CALL FOR SYMPOSIA

Call for Symposia Now Closed!

On behalf of the organising committee as chairpersons of this forthcoming meeting we wish to invite your participation in this inaugural TERMIS event in Australia.

This is an unique opportunity for all those involved in science and research to come together with medicine, dentistry, veterinary surgery and allied health disciplines to promote the worldwide advancement of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine; in particular the integration of current laboratory technologies and clinical needs in our region.

We offer our delegates innovative topics and stimulating clinical debates which will be led by a balance of international and national speakers and the opportunity for industry to contribute. The meeting will pay particular interest to expectations, directions and goals for the progress of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine by scientists and clinicians over the next half decade.

We look forward to your participation and welcoming you to Sydney in September 2010.

"Expectations, Directions and Goals for the progress of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine by Scientists and Clinicians over the next half decade"

The TERMIS-AP chapter meeting will be held from 15 - 17 September 2010, in Sydney, Australia. The TERMIS-AP Scientific Committee invites interested parties to submit symposium proposals.

Symposia present thematically-related research addressing significant problems or challenges in tissue engineering, regenerative medicine and related topics. Symposia bring together leading researchers and clinicians to present current developments and planned research directions. Varying viewpoints and controversies are appropriately presented.

Call for Symposia Form

If you wish to propose a symposium for TERMIS-AP 2010, please complete and submit the form to TERMIS2010@conferenceaction.com.au by 15 March 2010.

Symposium Fact Sheet

Symposium Format and Content
Each 90-minute symposium will include a 30-minute keynote slot and up to 4 additional 15 minute talks. Proposals for scientific symposia shall not be used to promote commercial products. Symposia should be strictly scientific and related to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, or generally in support of technologies used in these fields.

Chairperson
Each symposium should have an organiser who will also be responsible for selection of the respective Keynote Speaker. The organiser may act as the Keynote Speaker or the chair for their own session.

Keynote Speaker
Confirmation from the Keynote Speaker is essential as part of the proposal.

Additional Speakers
Speakers other than the Keynote Speaker can either be invited by the symposia Chair or selected from the submitted abstracts.

Evaluation Criteria
The number of time slots available for symposia is limited and the Program Committee will make the final decision as to which symposium or workshop proposals can be accommodated. Symposia proposals will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria:

  1. Relevance to the TERMIS conference theme ("Expectations, Directions and Goals for the progress of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine by Scientists and Clinicians over the next half decade")
  2. Scientific importance of the symposia topic
  3. Submissions will be reviewed with regard to scholarly merit, soundness of methodology, relevance to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, clarity of presentation, significance, and originality. Final selection among submissions deemed meritorious will be directed toward achieving a balanced and broadly representative program.
  4. Competing Themes - If two or more competitive proposals are submitted in the same thematic area, the Scientific Program Committee may request to combine the proposals into one strong symposium.

Deadline
The deadline for submission of symposia proposals is 15 March, 2010.

Notification
Chairs of symposia selected for inclusion in TERMIS-AP 2010 chapter meeting will be notified by 31 March 2010.

If you wish to propose a symposium for TERMIS-AP 2010, please complete and submit the form to TERMIS2010@conferenceaction.com.au by 15 March 2010
