Faced with overwhelming response, the scientific committee led by Prof Michael Raghunath finally arrived at the very difficult decision of shortlisted candidates for the finals. TERMIS SYIS-AP will be giving out prizes to the three best poster and oral papers as follows:-

All young scientists submitting abstracts and who meet all of the following criteria are encouraged to apply:

  1. Have submitted the abstract for presentation at TERMIS AP 2011,
  2. Be under 40 years of age at the start of the Conference, and
  3. Be an SYIS member or qualified to be an SYIS member, defined as undertaking up to 3 years of postdoctoral study.

To apply, please complete and submit the APPLICATION FOR TERMIS SYIS-AP YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARDS form which can be downloaded from http://www.communicationconsultants.sg/termis2011/ by 15th June 2011. An extended abstract of 1 A4 page, graphs and figures allowed, must accompany each application.

Shortlisted applicants, who will be informed via email prior to the commencement of the Conference, will be required to present their work in a separate session specially allocated for competition judging. Shortlisted applicants for the Best Poster Paper Awards will have 5 minutes while shortlisted applicants for the Best Oral paper Awards will have 10 minutes.

A panel of 3 judges will make the final judgement for the awards and winners will be informed in advance. The awards will be presented during the closing ceremony on 5th August 2011.
