Student and Young Investigator Section (SYIS)
TERMIS-SYIS provides a platform for the "next generation" of scientists and engineers in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine to interact. SYIS aims to further the professional and scientific development of its members.
This year there are a number of activities planned to enhance the TERMIS-EU experience of its members. SYIS activities are only for students and young researchers:

SYIS Welcome Reception - Tuesday, 7th June, after 21h30, Club Buda (in front of the conference venue: see map)

Don't miss our welcome reception after the main conference opening reception. At club Buda, just across the small river from the conference site, SYIS will pay you a drink and will let you enjoy a Flamenco show! Come and get acquainted with young researchers from other countries!

Student-Mentor Meet Wednesday, 8th June, 12.45-13.45, conference venue

During the student-mentor meet, students and young investigators will get a chance to interact with world-renowned academic and industrial investigators in the field of Tissue Engineering & Regenerative Medicine. Students and young investigators will be organized in small groups with each mentor and have their questions answered in a relaxed and open discussion. Among the invited mentors are Eva Sykova, Ornella Parolini, Rui Reis, James Kirkpatrick, Jeffrey Gimble, James Yoo, Abhay Panditt, Masayuki Yamato, Jons Hillborn, Paul Hatton, Gilson Khang, Robert Brown, Jan Thorsten Schantz, Jose Lopez-Barneo and Telma Zorn.

This year's panel includes two established PIs (Dr Ornella Parolini, Dr James Kirkpatrick) with vast experience in the TERM field, a young PI (Dr António Salgado) and n industry representative (Dr Leon Olde Damink).

Scientific Co-chair

SYIS members will have the opportunity to assist chairing a session with a leader in the field of research during a scientific session.

SYIS Awards SYIS will award the three best oral presentations and three best poster presentations by SYIS members with monetary prizes. Stay sharp and do your best!
