Mark Chong, Vice-Chair TERMIS-SYIS AP
Mark is a postdoctoral research fellow at the National University of
Singapore. His previous work involved the development of polymeric films and
isolation of novel progenitor cell populations for vascular tissue
engineering. Mark is currently studying mesenchymal stem cells and
endothelial progenitor cells, as well as their interactions in co-cultures
for applications in regenerative medicine.
Dr. Sambit Sahoo, Immediate Past Chair TERMIS-SYIS AP
Sambit is a doctoral research student in the Division of Bioengineering at the National University
of Singapore. He currently works on tendon and ligament tissue engineering using bone marrow derived
mesenchymal stem cells on novel biohybrid scaffolds. With his background in medicine and
bioengineering, he aims to pursue translational research. His other interests lie in networking,
entrepreneurship, traveling and photography.
