Announcing the 2017 TERMIS-AM Business Plan Competition
For the 2017 TERMIS-AM Conference, the Commercialization and Regulation Thematic Working Interest Group (TWIG) proudly invites you to participate in a Business Plan Competition. The top submissions will compete in the Finals during the 2017 TERMIS-AM conference that will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina from December 3-6 with podium presentations. The winner will be judged and selected by a select panel. Besides a cash prize, Finalists will be awarded a commemorative certificate and receive a unique experience and exposure. The top applicants not chosen to compete in the Finals will be invited to participate during the poster session.
Applicants should submit their “abstract” directly to Melanie Ryan, firstname.lastname@example.org, using the published formatting requirements, with the exception of the Content. Abstracts should be comprised of the following content sections: (1) Company Summary, (2) Products and/or Service (3) Market and Competition Analysis (4) Strategy and Implementation, (5) Financial Plan and (6) Management Plan. All other rules apply.
Deadline for submitting abstracts for the Business Plan Competition will be August 18, 2017. Please submit your “abstract” via email to Melanie Ryan, email@example.com
Those selected for the Competition will be notified in September and asked to submit full Business Plans. Details on full Business Plans will follow, but will generally be a written expansion of the above content to 10-12 pages. Competitors will be notified in November whether they will be participating in the Honorable Mention (poster) or Finals (podium) track.Participants can be individuals or teams. Teams are limited to 4 members per team, and may include multi-disciplinary students (eg, Business school, pre-Law, etc). All participants must be students (graduate or undergraduate). Technologies may be conceptual in nature: the product or service need not be reduced to practice, intellectual property secured or corporate structures formed. Participants recognize that presenting at the Business Competition constitutes a public disclosure. Only one submission per participant. Specific awards, level of cash prize and panelist judges will be announced in the coming months.
